PPA UUMCAS ONLINE: The Student Development and Alumni (SDA) Office of College of Arts and Sciences recently hosted 17 delegates from Swansea University, United Kingdom.
This visit is a part of the Passage to Asia (P2A) journey offered by UUM. The delegates arrived on 9th August 2018 and were greeted warmly by our Welcome Center Staff. They were given explanation on the uniqueness and beauty of the campus. The delegates were captivated listening to the historical development of UUM. The delegates were also feasted with traditional Malay cakes and “teh tarik”. Later, the delegates had a briefing by the mobility coordinator about the recent achievements of UUM. They were given a mini tour around campus to actually experience the lush greenery and facilities of UUM campus.
Their journey continued with a trip to Langkawi, accompanied by SDA staffs, Mr. Shahrul Anuar Hanapi and Mr. Mohd Farid Fadly and also lecturer from School of Computing, Mr. Suwannit Chareen Chit. A staff from Rangsit University Thailand also joined the trip. They started their exploration by riding the cable car at Langkawi’s Oriental Park.
They were mesmerized the legendary island’s beauty. In the evening, team building activities were carried out at Cenang Beach. On the next day, they experienced the island hopping activities.
All of them enjoyed the nature and historical visits in Langkawi. They also visited the “gamat” production and were amazed with the benefits of “gamat”.
Jena the representative of the delegates said,” It is heart-warming to experience the hospitality of UUM staffs and Malaysians. It is definitely a memorable experience for us!”
It was ultimately a pleasure to host this trip as the delegates were participative in all the activities planned.
